Dr. Emmanuel Olutomilola

Co-winner, The Nigeria Prize for Science 2022

Engr. Dr. Emmanuel Olatunji Olutomilola is joint winner of The Nigeria Prize for Science 2022 on Sustainable Food Security with their invention of Process Plant for Plantain flour which he did in collaboration with Prof. Sesan Ayodeji. He was born in 1980 in Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria to Rev. Williams Ojo and Chief (Mrs.) Abigail Aduke Fatomilola. He received his primary and secondary
education in both Ekiti and Ondo States. In 2007, he obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University). He served
in the ministry of works as a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member in Birni-Kebbi, Kebbi State in the year 2008. He obtained his Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in 2012 and his Doctor of Philosophy
(PhD) in Mechanical Engineering (2019) from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). He is a registered member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
