Dr. Muhyideen Oyekunle, is one of the joint winners of the Nigeria Prize for Science (2022). Dr Muhyideen Oyekunle, holds a Ph.D. in Plant Breeding from the University of Ibadan and is currently a senior research fellow in the Department of Plant Science, Institute for Agricultural Research,
Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He also attended Plant Breeding Academy, University of California, and several other trainings outside Nigeria. He has conducted a number of field experiments on biotic and abiotic stresses on maize. Dr. Oyekunle’s work “Gains in Grain Yield of Released Maize (Zea Mays L.) Cultivars under Drought and Well-Watered Conditions” was adjudged one of the winning entries in 2022.
