Oyin Olugbile is a Nigerian-born author and cultural storyteller whose work boldly reimagines African myths, matriarchal power, and spiritual memory.
She is the author of SANYA, a mythological fiction novel that reframes the legacy of the Yoruba god Sango through the eyes of a fierce and flawed female protagonist. Oyin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos and a Master’s degree in Leadership and Development from King’s College London.
Her storytelling is deeply informed by her academic background, her lived experiences as a mother and professional in the diaspora, and her passion for rethinking dominant cultural narratives.
In addition to SANYA, Oyin is the co-author of *The Road to Good Governance in Nigeria and Africa* and has written several screenplays exploring identity, spirituality, and intergenerational transformation. She is known for developing layered, character-driven fiction that merges ancient symbolism with modern emotional realities. Oyin has received multiple recognitions for her work across literature, education, and leadership, including:
– CANEX Prize for Publishing, 2024 – Longlist (*SANYA*)
– FutureEd Awards, 2023 – Winner, Best Learning Support
– Women Economic Forum Awards, 2023 – Winner, Iconic Women Creating a Better World for All
Beyond writing, she serves on nonprofit boards, mentors emerging storytellers, and actively contributes to community and educational development in the UK and Nigeria.
Her writing process often begins in the quietest hours of the night, surrounded by her husband and sleeping children, fueled by faith, memory, and a relentless curiosity about African truths long buried.
