Five outstanding documentary films have been shortlisted as finalists for the inaugural Nigeria Prize for Creative Arts (NPCA) on 25 August 2026, following a rigorous adjudication process that narrowed the competition from the 11 nominees previously announced. The selection brings their creators one step closer to becoming the first-ever winner of Nigeria's foremost creative arts prize.

The shortlisted documentaries emerged from the maiden edition of the NPCA, which attracted 98 submissions from talented young Nigerian filmmakers and creatives across the country.

Having progressed from the initial pool of entries to the 11-nominee stage, these filmmakers now stand among the final contenders for the prestigious award.
